An 18th Century Hei Tiki A classic type I form carved in inanga variety stone, refashioned from an adze. The head is tilted to the left with red sealing wax embellishment to the triple ringed eyes (added later). The body is well formed and symmetrical. The facial features are somewhat worn consistent with significant age and use. Countersunk suspension hole to the top of the head. Height 8cm. Y11143
