Beardsley Aubrey - Bookplate For Herbert Charles Pollitt (Mr Pollitt's Bookplate) Line block on paper with Beardley's initials reproduced in the plate. Rare. Originally this design was used by Beardsley for his own use and was published as "Bookplate of the Artist in 50 Drawings, but then sold by Beardsley to Pollitt for his own use. Pollitt was a keen collector of Beardsley's work and originally owned most of the Lysistrata drawings. This plate is one of only three designs Beardsley is known to have made specifically for bookplates. Ref MLS 113
