Aldus Manutius, Venice, 1568, 752pp, (18) plus index pages, signature of William Robertson in ink to upper title-page, full contemporary vellum, 4 raised spine bands, 3 small holes to TP, small loss to top right corner of TP, silverfish hole, then further holes in upper text running from page 580 to the final leaf. A renowned Renaissance volume by Paulo Manuzio on the 16 books of Cicero to his closest friend T. Pomponius Atticus, featuring extensive scholarly notes and a comprehensive index of words & things. A note in the front says Bought at Marks in Charing Cross Road, 1934 and from the collection of C. R. H. Taylor, former Chief Librarian, Alexander Turnbull Library, 1937-63. Rare.
