Lot Details
Being A Ghost Story of Christmas, Chapman & Hall, London, second edition, 1843. original blind stamped red cloth with gilt title in a laurel wreath to the cover, complete with all four coloured illustrations. Sunned, binding loose, upper spine end frayed. Rare. The second edition had a printing run of only 2000 copies as opposed to 6000 for the first, making this the rarest edition. On the cover the serif on the D of Dickens is missing upper left, on the opening pare the title Stave one appears (the first edition hade Stve 1). Broken "C" in the signature on page 17.
