Hunter, Reginald - Porlock: A Portrait - Foreword by John Cowper Powys. Illustrated by William O’Brian - Caldwell, Idaho: The Caxton Printers Ltd, 1940. 152pp, large 8vo cloth. A comical tale of Greenwich Village, New York. Together with Four books of poetry by Hunter: Call Out of Darkness (1946); The Saga of Sinclair (1981); And Tomorrow Comes (1982), and Kenneth Hopkins’s appreciative booklet: Passages in the Life of Reginald Hunter (1985). Maurice Reginald (Rex) Hunter, born in Southbrook, Canterbury, in 1889 travelled to the U.S.A. in 1917 and worked there as a journalist. He returned to New Zealand in 1949 and died in Dunedin in 1960. All in varying conditions.
