Sampson Low, Marston, Low & Serle, London, 1874. iv, 288pp with 48pp catalogue, foxing, general wear, 8vo red cloth over bevelled boards with title in gilt, first edition. Rare copy of this edition with full title on the spine. A sound and bright copy with bookplate of W.H. de Luen and a presentation inscription from the author written across the title page. Adventures in the 1850s, partly autobiographical, in Auckland province, including Riverhead, Thames and Great Barrier. Bagnall 245 describes only the reissue in blue cloth.
