A Large 18th Century Hei Tiki A superb example of a large type I form refashioned from a kawakawa variety stone adze. The head is tilted to the left with facial features displaying singly recessed eye rings, detailed nasal ridge that extends to the edge of the head and heart shaped mouth showing a tongue and three teeth. The body is thick and muscular with well-defined shoulders and elbows. Concealed countersunk suspension hole to the top of the head.
