black and white with purple stamp to the back of each which reads, ' This Acknowledgment Is Positively Required With Each Publication Copyright By H. G. Ponting F.R.G.S. Each image measures approx 20.5cm x 15.5, numbered and titled in pencil verso, some with pasted on paper titles to the front . The collection contains some iconic images including No 30, A Grotto In An Iceberg with the Terra Nova in the distance, taken on January 8th, 1911, shortly after the arrival of Terra Nova at McMurdo Sound, All the photos have pinholes to the corners. A rare collection indeed.
