(Fore-Edge Painted) Nuova Edizione. Milano, da Paolo Riparmonti Carpano (1840) Engraved frontis and TP, 813 [1]pp, full red leather with scrolling gilt decorations to boards and spine. Concealed beneath the gilt for-edges a pleasant painting of an Italian lagoon with buildings lining the bank, receding into the horizon and gondolas with figures in the foreground. The front pastedown carries a signed presentation inscription from Walter Savage Landor to Lady Blessington "I purchased during my visit to Italy and thought it might amuse you and Count D;Orsay" Darkened spine and front board detached.
