Maori, Oceanic & African Arts Entries Invited For December 2021

Auction to be held 7th December This sale will include a superb offering of Māori artefacts including three important historic mere pounamu, wakahuia and papahou, weapons, hei-tiki and items of adornment and a large collection of toki. Also included will be a large library of tribal art and Māori reference books and a collection of historic Māori photographs. The African and Asia component of the sale will include the Lim-Strutt collection of African art and Southeast Asia ceramics comprising over 70 pieces. Also featured will be a large collection of Papua New Guinean items from the Sepik River region and a collection of Buddhist sculpture and Chinese and Tibetan art including a superb Ming period temple guardian figure, a large impressive Thangka depicting Buddha Shakyamuni and a rare 18th century Tibetan Kapala.
