Lot Details
chrome-plated, marked 'Reg.U.S.Pat.Off' and 'Trade Mark Reg' under the wings, 12cm H mounted on a radiator cap. Also know as Flying Lady and Emily the piece was commissioned by Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, sculptor Charles Sykes to represent a secret romance, modelled by Eleanor Thornton. It was officially adopted by Rolls-Royce in 1911 to prevent owners from placing "undignified" mascots on their vehicles
