Rees William Lee & Lily - The Life And Times of Sir George Grey (Signed by Grey) H Brett, Auckland, first edition, 1892, with signed tipped in note to the front which reads, "To Colonel C. Rookes in memory of Te Wereroa and deeds done G Grey" plus auction sales receipt, other auction lot ticket and newspaper cutting, original blue cloth. Charles Cecil Rookes (1819-1909) arrived in New Zealand in 1858 and resided in Howick. He joined the Defence Department in 1860 and went on to command the Wanganui District and raised a cavalry troop of volunteers.
