the panoramic study shows the squadron at Awapuni Racecourse in Palmerston, with Captain Charles Robert Spragg in front, Lieutenants Norman Donald Cameron, Percy Tivy Emerson, Frederick Batchelar and 2nd Lieutenant Henry Beresford Maunsell behind. Is is suggested the possibly squadron commander Major Selwyn Chambers took the photo and the camera may have been Captain Spraggs as verso it has a label for The Crown Studios, 448 George Street, Sydney and also handwritten "Spragg Benelong St Sydney, 17.5cm x 38, in an oak frame. .A rare piece indeed of NZ WWI history, another is held in Hawkes Bay Museum.
