A Large and Impressive Japanese Meiji Period Satsuma Ovoid Vase by Gyokusen Finely painted in gilt and polychrome enamels with the seven gods of good fortune (Shichifukujin) Ebisu (Integrity) Daikokuten (Prosperity) Benzaiten (Kindness) Bishamonten (Dignity) Fukuroku (Popularity) Jurōjin (Longevity) Hotei (Magnanimity) with Bijin attendants. The vase shoulder with cruciform mons and side profile dragons in gilt. The top section with fine calligraphic script and a repeating diaper pattern Signed with a three-panel cartouche to the underside Dai Nihon, Satsuma, Gyokusen zo and with a Satsuma mon Provenance: Sold at Cordys auctions in 2016 H 33cm
