Moiseiwitsch was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1946 for services to music during the Second World War, having performed hundreds of recitals for servicemen and charities. The medal comes with numerous signed letters and telegrams between Mrs Churchill and Mrs Moiseiwitsch over concerts and Red Cross Fund together with tome containing copies of Donations made to various war time organisations, three copies made of this work one for Russian Ambassador, Ivan Maisky, Mrs Churchill and this Mosiseiwitsch copy)
