central Mackintosh styled roses in orange and green, 40mm dia Frances MacDonald MacNair in 1891 she enrolled at Glasgow School of Art. She was a pivotal artist and designer in the development of the Glasgow Style and Art Nouveau aesthetic. Frances being the sister-inlaw of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Another of this brooch is held in The MET New York Collection
