Lot Details

Dadds, E. [i.e. Bob Gormack] - The Centennial History of Barnego Flat. General Editor E. Dadds. Nag’s Head Press, Christchurch, 1964-1994. Complete set of 10 volumes, all small format softcovers in various conditions, hand-printed by Gormack. The first four were limited to 100 copies, the rest to 150. No.1 and 2 have a small whited out ink number at foot of spine, vol.1 also on endpaper. Several have the prospectus enclosed and included is a two-page handwritten letter sent by Gormack to Denis Glover with vol.5. Glover in a review called this “the longest rambling inventive and discursive piece of satire that the country has produced” with Swagger Jack, A Station Tale (Bookie No.3). Nag’s Head Press, Christchurch, 1951. Printed at the Pegasus Press. Small 8vo wrappers, some spots of foxing. A review by Denis Glover states “Another little-known masterpiece”.
