The full title being: The Certainty of a Future Life on Mars, being the Posthumous Papers of Bradford Torrey Dodd. Brentano’s, New York, 1903. 266pp, small 8vo cloth, with two copies. An occult interplanetary novel - messages are sent back from Mars by a dead professor whose spirit has ascended there transcendentally and show Mars to be a utopia. The professor is said to have died in Christchurch, N.Z. 1895, with several pages set on Mt Cook, where he chose to build his observatory in 1883. Bleiler, Science-Fiction: The Early Years 910.
