Printed for the Author by Cassell & Co., London, 1893. 137pp, small 8vo original cloth gilt, foxing to foredges, the identity of the author and of the subject of the book noted in the manuscript, signature with date to FEP. Bagnall B1626 states: “Fictionalised narrative in which ‘much assistance has been obtained by the perusal of the original diary kept by 'Jack'’, possibly the author's father, J.J. Buchanan of Triangle and from '67 of Tikokino, Hawke's Bay”. In this edition, her father is named John Jauncey Buchanan of Portobello, Edinburgh.
