Amery Bridget - White Horses Ride Home George C Harrap, London, 1936 299pp 8vo cloth, foxing, wear to spine ends. Scarce and rather interesting novel of stage life and religion, the heroine becoming first an Anglican then converting to Liberal Judaism. The author, aka Mrs Peter Bornstein and Marie Rozelaar, was born Gertrude Frances Coghill in Victoria, Australia, in 1905. She toured New Zealand as a musician in the 1920s and played in theatre orchestras in Dunedin, and a small part of this novel (pp.115-123) is set here.
