Elliot Stock, London, 1894. First edition. 200pp crown 8vo dark blue cloth over bevelled boards, light foxing, bright copy with presentation inscription from the author to his son. It tells of Bertie who is to marry young Violet, but first travels to New Zealand to secure his inheritance; here he instead marries a designer he meets on the ship where she is murdered by her evil brother.
