A Good Japanese Black Lacquer Buddhist altar (Butsudan) With double hinged doors opening to reveal gilt lacquered interior with further double hinged lattice doors below a frieze carved with flying cranes opening to reveal a tripartite architectural interior above four small drawers, a further long drawer on a base with sliding cupboard doors. Complete with an array of subsidiary Buddhist religious accessories (Butsugu) including candlesticks, incense burners offering stands and prayer books. 170 cm height. 74 cm width
