Given to the captain by the passengers at Hokitika December 15th, 1871 with their sincere thanks for his kindness and comfort shown and the way he discharged his duties towards them as commander of the ship on their journey to Hokitika from Melbourne, signed by 11 passengers, together with a large sepia photograph of the ship pasted down on the reverse. A wonderful early piece of NZ maritime history.
