Buller Sir Walter L - A Classified List of Mr S William Silver's Collection of New-Zealand Birds (At The Manor-House, Letcomb Regis). E. A. Petherick & Co, London, 1888, 96pp, 10 plates and text illustrations, full vellum (foxed), front board slightly warped, marbled endpapers. TP detached, otherwise an exceptionally scarce volume. Stephen William Silver (1819-1905) was a very wealthy London timber merchant who collected and assembled an exceptional collection of NZ bird specimens. They were exhibited at The Colonial And Indian Exhibition of 1886 and this volume is basically a catalogue of that exhibition. His library became known as the York Gate Library and was purchased by the Royal Geographical Society of South Australia in Adelaide. Ref; Bagnall 754.
