Well carved example of a type I form in fine-grained kawakawa variety stone. Face displays double-ringed recessed eyes and a worn but detailed nose leading to the heart shaped mouth with tongue over a delineated neck and four ribs. Three-fingered hands to thighs, two countersunk suspension holes, one intact. Provenance: Jenny Gibbs Collection 8cm length. Y09306
