A Good 19th Century Wakahuia (Treasure Box) Elongated oval orthodox form. Carved with triple haehae lines and fine pakati (dog tooth notching and intersecting maui and raruru spirals. The lid with conforming decoration. Each end with unusually inverted wheku heads carved in high relief. Provenance: Jeff Hobbs collection.
