A morocco and gilt bound In Memoriam album of over 120 pages of original watercolour sketches, including some fold out examples, drawings, including landscapes and panoramas, portraits, architectural studies, flora and fauna, maritime, etc. Subjects include, numerous local churches, Kinnersley Church & Rectory, Cookham Church, Little Marlow Church, Bray Church, views in Maidenhead, St Pauls, the Tower of London, Houses of Parliament, Southwark Bridge, Windsor Castle, Winchester, York, Ely and Lincoln Cathedrals, Greenwich Hospital, Crawford College, a 5 panel fold-out watercolour from the top of the tower Belvedere, 1863, Boulogne, Antwerp, Ghent, Hamburg, Hanover, Calais, etc. All are tipped in and range from large single full page single works to 7-8 per page smaller works, most inscribed. Also with a sepia portrait of Suter to the front. The album spine is very poor. The album covers the span of Suters career from the 1820s to around 1870. Appointed Surveyor to Trinity House corporation & The Fishmongers Co in 1822, he formed an architectural partnership with Annesley Voysey in the 1830s and continued to work until his retirement.
