Illuminated by William and George Audsley, architects of Liverpool, illustrated by C Rolt. Day & Son, London, 1861, 56 x 43.5cm, 26 plates (col). Publishers original binding, ornately gilt, spine damaged, paper aged, some dampstaining to protective tissue, minor otherwise. Closed tears & heavy wear to page extremities, SLF. Evidence of use by an artist, with pencilled diagrams verso of some plates. Illuminations include: The Lord's Prayer, Blessed are the Peacemakers, Blessed are they that Mourn. The Audsley brothers designed many churches, one imagines the finished interiors being "dressed" with this volume on an appropriate lectern.
