Te Rangi Hiroa - The Evolution Of Maori Clothing (Signed By Labour Leader Harry Holland) Printed by Thomas Avery & Sons, New Plymouth, 1926, signed on the front endpaper by Harry Holland, leader of the Labour Party in NZ from 1919 until 1933, tipped in complimentary slip from The Board of Maori Ethnological Research and stamp for St Josephs Convent of Our Lady of Mercy, Westport. Red cloth, heavy old water damage staining to covers, FEP, and TP. Holland was one of a number of Australian radicals who came to New Zealand in the early 20th century. He lead the Parliamentary Labour Party from 1919 to 1933 and died while attending the burial in October 1933 of Te Rata Mahuta the Maori King.
