Sampson Low, Marston, Searle & Rivington, London, first edition 1885, illus including frontis port, half morocco, marbled EP s & fore-edges, ex libris, embossed gilt stamp to covers, withdrawn stamps, front board Vol II detached. Ulysses S Grant, the 18th President of The United States. The books focuses on his military career during the Mexican-American War and the American Civil War and were completed as he was dying of throat cancer in 1885.
