Jane Hobbs (C19th) The White Terraces oil on canvas 58 x 89cm with associated Tarawera literature & ephemera Provenance The artist was the only European survivor of the Tarawera eruption. She was the daughter of Mr & Mrs Hazard, and her father was the schoolmaster at the village of Te Waiora, bordering Lake Tarawera. The work was painted from memory.
