This uncoloured map of the Mutapu (or Monomotapu) empire covers much of Southern Africa. The Zambezi River (labelled as the Cuama River) is shown, as well as the regions goldmines and a fort built by the Portuguese at Tete. Engraved in 1747 and published in Prevost's Historie Generale des Voyages between 1746 and 1790.
