Surgeon-Superintendent on the Steadfast February-June 1851. The Nags Head Press, Christchurch, first editions 1982-83, limited to 300 copies, navy blue cloth, DJ., both fine. The books offer an insight into duties and responsibilities of a surgeon on a Canterbury Association emigrant ship in 1851, who was himself an intending colonist, Part II gives an interesting account of the Canterbury settlement, with Dr Gundry, against the population odds, commencing practice in Christchurch. Scarce copies.
