and four small drawers, eight drawers below on box base This desk was made for the Atkins family of Auckland in the 1890s - believed to be 1896. The Atkins family was a wealthy family with interests in the red meat industry in the Northland/Auckland area. This desk was one of three bespoke pieces commissioned by the family at that time.
