Frances Hodgkins (1869-1947) Untitled (The Orange Sail, possibly Chioggia) c 1906 watercolour 12.5 x 17.5cm Provenance The Hursthouse Collection, York Bay, Wellington The Hursthouse, Atkinson & Richmond families began their friendship before James Crowe Richmond's arrived in New Zealand, 1850. Richmond's aunt Helen was married to John Hursthouse, and had previously worked with John Staines Atkinson in the United Kingdom. The families remained close, settling in York Bay, Wellington.
