Richard - A History of British Fossil Mammals and Birds Illustrated by 237 Woodcuts, John Van Voorst, London, first edition 1896, with a charming inserted A.I.S from Sheen Lodge Richmond Park (which Owen received from Queen Victoria as a residence in 1852) addressed to Mrs Hugh regretting that an invitation to speak at a Royal Academy dinner prevents him from accepting her invitation to a "quieter and more enjoyable neighbourly dinner" . The book is finely bound in half green morocco, with marbled EP's and BP of Thomas Westwood.
