D. - The Morioris Of Chatham Islands Memoirs of the Bernice P Bishop Museum, Volume IX, Numbers 1 & 5, 1923 & 1928, published by the Museum, Honolulu, Hawaii, together with an accompanying hand written letter from the author to the current vendor from 1961 detailing the reputed theft by a former Canterbury Museum curator of rare Chatham Island antiquities and following a visit to the islands The Rothschilds collection of skeletons of extinct Chatham Island birds had become the most important collection of its kind in the world. Number 5 has owners name on upper cover, Number 1 has with the compliments of the author, who I am told was the current owners mentor.
