Glasgow Oak Roll-Top Desk the tambour shutter revealing an interior of pigeonholes and drawers, central kneehole drawer and further drawers to each pedestal on box bases. This belonged to George H Scales. He founded George H Scales Ltd being a shipping company. The company was formed through a group of Wairarapa sheep farmers to ship their wool from NZ to England - book written about the company called "A Venture Into Shipping 1912-1972" written by Mr TC Coveney. The vendor is the daughter of the author.
